My work focuses mainly around strong concepts teamed with a cartoon/developed personal style. Often combining contradictory scenarios, objects, or people.

Basically when i first started really getting into art and design, it was mainly because of Japanese art, I loved every bit of it, from classic anime to Japanese pop art and even the old school traditional work. As time has progressed I've learned to evolve and try all sorts of new techniques and mediums, so the name Tokyo-Go-Go expresses how i began, and how those beginnings will keep changing, always on the Go ! Go !

Junk Food Kills! is really just a fun, busy design, playing with the oxymoron of Junkfood, and how deadly it can be. The initial design was just going to be a mash-up of different foods and sweets that covered the front of a tee, but i then decided to add the skull shape to give the illustration a different level and also add my own character touch to it.

I live in Vignola (ITALY), but I work principally in Bologna

What inspired you to become an artist?
Since I was 4, I used to claim around that, once grown up, I would have become a comic drawer, but my parents did not attach importance to this, as they considered my ambition as a child-dream as, for example, the dream for the other children to become an astronaut or a ballet dancer... but they were wrong... unfortunately for them.

I attended the school of comics in Bologna and in 2004 I set up a studio / agency with a couple of friends, the Drowart Studio.

Now, my everyday job is divided into comics drawing, illustration, character design, inking... the most important thing for me is to wake up in the morning with a pencil in my hand and go to bed in the late night with the pencil in the hand..

Who are some of your favorite artists?
Too Many... every day I spend less an hour watching blogs and finding new artists. In this time my favourite are Sean "Cheeks" Galloway, Skottie Young, Ben Caldwell,Arthur De Pins

Tell us about your shirt?
I love Monster Inc. by Pixar, I can’t tell you how many times I have watched it and how many times I will watch it again in the future. The love for this film has generated my passion in drawing monsters for fun.

I created a series of little illustrations that represent in graphics some italian idioms, as, in this case, “keep an eye on st.”

In the words of the artist, “I love popcorn. I eat popcorn almost every day. I also love the movie Ghostbusters and one of my favorite scenes is the eggs frying in the kitchen. I kind of loosely based this in the style of the whimsical Ghostbusters’ comedy and depicted an air popper possessed by Zuul. Or this was based on a design I did back in high school for some stupid Korn album cover contest that shattered my dreams of being a professional artist. You decide.”
