I grew up in Alabama, and I started drawing during church on paper bulletins. SO MANY NINJA TURTLE DRAWINGS.
I guess it was just always something I did, and then I started doing more serious work in college and taking figure drawing classes after that.
I worked in video and tv production for a whie, then moved onto design and agency work. Just this last year I moved to the NYC area to work for Celebrity Tattoo Artist Mario Barth as his designer, video editor, and copy writer.
Contemporary inspirations for me in the art world are James Jean, Audrey Kawasaki, Bobby Chiu, Kei Acedera, Jason Chan, Jason Seiler and the list goes on for days. Give me beer and I’ll complain about how great they are hours.
I named this design Province as a nod to one of my favorite TV on the Radio songs. I made it as part of a long running study and experimentation with the aesthetics hair. And I also wanted to see how much I could push one or two colors as far as imagery goes.
