Pooper, the Count shirt is the only thing offered today. Tomorrow will be the other piece listed in the weekend email updates.

I’m not gonna say what tomorrow’s is. If people want to know, they need to sign up for the RIPT Newsletter. ;)

    Methodman78

    MoonNeko

I’m not crazy about this shirt, but I’m interested in the one you all are talking about o_O i must to subscribe to the newsletter me thinks..

    TJ

@MoonNeko – Yeah each week we send out “weekend previews” where you get to see the shirts before they are released. Sign up for the newsletter on the left hand side of the page!

Are we talking about the same shirt? This vampire thing, right? Yeah, this is horrible. How did this get approved to put on a shirt? This looks like it was done by a 5 year old and then re-rendered in Corel Draw by a 1st year graphic design student at a community college (was it? That would explain everything). Any money put towards this shirt would be better utilized going to a charity, or hell, buy some potato chips and sit on your arse all day. Just don’t buy this piece of garbage.

Following on from Dana’s lovely comment, I can’t help but say that it’s not up to Dana if we like the shirt or not, it’s personal taste and I think it’s a great piece of minimalistic art. Cartoon enough to be fun, but evil enough to be a great Halloween buy.

    Good job Phil.

@ Dana if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all – didn’t your mom teach you anything?

    good job on the print

    Carolyn

Nice work, Phil, I’ll be buying this shirt for m’fella (whilst feeling bad for not giving the money to charity or just stuffing my face all day, naturally…)

    @NaySayers:

“If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all” applies to when your grandma gets you an ugly sweater for Christmas. Art, on the other hand, is always open to ruthless critique.

If you like this uninspired piece of garbage, then that’s up to you and your malfunctioning optical rods and cones. I’m honestly baffled that any of you are finding any merit to this shirt, much less spending your hard earned cash on it. You know we’re in a recession, right?

Boxed stroke lines on the ear that don’t even intersect, the right corner on the eye overlaps the stroke underneath it, leaving an awkward jagged corner, those fingers are just…really? Were you in a rush or something? The body is made out of uninteresting curves. It’s just, boring.

So I have nothing nice to say. Do any of you? Besides ‘cool’ and ‘lol bought!’

    Pooper

but Jaden when I checked the graveyard there were 2 “Today’s Shirt” Count and the other one (i dont wanna ruin it if u havent seen the weekend preview o:)

But i guess its fixed :)

    TJ

Pooper, I don’t think there were 2. Maybe it was late and you thought you saw something that wasn’t really there?

    Pooper

    haha maybe xD
    it was kinda late…
    oh well…

We like this shirt a lot. It has a certain charm and we’ve been waiting to print it for over a few months. Phil Brown is an excellent artist, and the shirt looks this way due to stylistic choices. A for the day!

    TJ

Great job Phil! We were happy to print this shirt!

I think the thing we are forgetting here, (this is for the good of the staff as well as the customers) is that everyone has varied tastes. If Dana doesn’t care for it, she is welcome to voice her disappointment in the piece. However, I stress that she then be polite about her distaste. By the same token, we can acknowledge that it’s not to her liking but not belittle her for her point of view.

Phil obviously makes his livelihood from creating such characters, so I believe it’s unfair to make such statements as ‘this is garbage’ when a design firm pays him weekly for what he loves to do. You don’t care for it? So be it. But don’t slam the artist for working in a style that is simple and, I feel, is unique.

Well, I didn’t manage to get on yesterday to leave my thanks for those who left kind words. Have to say I am chuffed about the way the tee shirt looks and that the cheerful Count made his way onto it!

Also have to say to “Dana” that you are totally free to dislike my attempts at “art”, but that to be honest I never see my work as “Art” and certainly never as something important enough to warrant the energetic attack you have made on it with your certainly “ruthless critique”.

Take it easy everyone and thanks for those who supported and even bought this tee!
