Artist: Big Ed Bell
http://edbell-griot.blogspot.com/
Curated by: Matt Ingleby
Ed is from South LA, but now calls San Francisco’s Mission area home.
He’s an artist in the animation industry and a documentary filmmaker who loves people, art and life, not necessarily in that order.
He’s inspired by Classic Jazz LP cover art, Harlem Renaissance art, as well as all great design, decor and architecture of human experience. And cartoons, too.
This piece is called Muse, because it was one those cases where the artist is seized with fancy, unable to resist sketching whatever that week’s muse wants to say. I hope it translates to a shirt okay!

Awesome shirt, I saw this in the preview email and knew I had to have it! totally bought
THANKS MUCHO for the support and for buying. I appreciate the good words! This week has been insane, and I’ve been down with the flu, but it’s been cool to see a design up here. I love this process, and working with Ript is a blast. Let’s do it again — so I can get on top of my promotion next time! Cheers Fellas!!
I love his women. Strong and beautiful.
I have always loved Ed’s work, so cool to be able to wear some of it now!
