JunkyKid aka Paul Afong Jr. was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has studied design and illustration at The College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota. He currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. JunkyKid’s urban cartoon style art is a steady stream of strange and wacky characters that all come together in the end. Using found objects like discarded cardboard, wood and a variety of paper as his canvas, gives his work an organic quality and a sense of whimsy. He has shown and sold his artwork in his home town of Minneapolis and online to people all over the world. Junkykid is inspired by many artists, like Tim Biskup, Barry “Twist” McGee, Camille Rose Garcia, Fafi, Mark Ryden, Jeff Soto, Gary Baseman, Pete Fowler, Joe Sorren, Andrew Bell just to name a few and many, many more.
