This shirt looks like a vagina. I’m going to get it…but not because it looks like a vagina.

    nappleby

    What?

    Newman

I was lucky enough to study Polynesian art history, and the nether regions are a popular motif in many parts of the globe, something to do with child rearing and the importance of family or just horny bored dudes whittling there hard wood all day. I can’t come right out and say it’s a vag but you have a keen eye for fine artwork I dare say.

    Oopsfail.
    These captchas are hard…

Warthogs live in family groups of a female and her young. Sometimes another female will join the group( cue bass solo pron music) Males normally live by themselves, only joining the groups to mate. Boom chick a chick ah bow wow.

This commentary, by far, has been the oddest on RIPT… ever.

That being said, congrats, Newman/Quakerninja. ;-)

Thank you kindly Jaden Kale. I am a fan of your exploits into imaginations and other illustrative splendors.

    Good stuff quakerninja

It is worth noting that Purple is the color of royalty in many cultures.
I can’t promise it will bring you any riches, but I can guarantee at $10 if won’t make you a poor man either. It will however make you most likely look better then your friends and that has got to be worth something. and a hearty Thank you Adamsw216

    Beautiful Art.
I love Polynesian tattoo work (REAL tribal art, not that spaghetti crap) and the people. This is great. Just beautiful.

Nice, I’m happy to see a purple shirt.
Quakerninja you have left us with much to think about in this amazing warthog of paradise – I love the patterns and colors along with the complacent look on his face

oh, and I also love masks, something I tend to always pick up when I travel “we all wear masks”

    silverglass

Thank you everyone. lol @ oatmeal friend. I also do oil changes if you need one.

So a bit more about me. I was fortunate enough to get to spend a part of my youth with the Duruma tribe in Kinango, about two hours drive from Mombasa, Kenya.

With no T.V. or xbox or anything I would have to be entertained with stories of animals and all manor of cleverly spun morality tales. One story is of an old woman who finds enough money to buy a pig, and on the way home the pig won’t go into the gate, so it becomes like the house that jack built with a long list of things that won’t work to get this pig in the the gate. The last she ask is a cow, the cow is happy to help if she does something for the cow first.

The moral being help and you shall be helped, ask without giving and you are on your own.

I appreciate the support that each sale brings. It really does help me, more then you may realize.

I would like to take some time again to thank Ript not just for this opportunity today for me but for giving a lot to the artist, so on behalf of the tee shirt design community Thank you. Thanks go also to all who have stooped by to shop here today.

If there are any questions you have of me or the shirt, I would be happy to answer them for you.

    the_jcw

wow, awesome story, thanks for sharing. Any other parts of the world that have influenced you?

I am continually amazed at how common it is to tell stories this way.
For me it really connects me with my fellow humans on this planet.

How incredible is it for people in seemingly remote areas of the world to use artwork to impart knowledge to the future generations.
From the native totems in the great northwest, and even cave paintings.
Or even the tales of the wild west with Paul Bunion and Johnny Appleseed.

    Great Question jcw

I also spent some time in Saipan, part of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands in Micronesia.

While at school there I learned of Palauan storyboards, (pronounced belau) These are relief carvings on wood that illustrate local fokelore. I am pleased to say that there are a number of artist that are still carrying out this tradition today. The modern equivalent I would say are comics, and graphic novels.

Something about how these images and the stories they tell really intrigue me. I would like to begin a transition into more of a storytellers doodler. This shirt is just preview of what I hope will be much more to come.
