Artist: Alistar Space
A native son from the mile high city of Denver, Colorado. Alistar was transplanted ‘kicking and screaming all the way’ at the age of 11 to Chicago, Illinois. The city of ‘Big Shoulders’ soon made an impression and became his happy homeland, he has lived there essentially ever since. A natural designer, by ways of osmosis (as he is the son of a commercial artist representative), he decide illustration was the best focus of his formal studies. The historic American Academy of Art (Chicago) provided Alistar the chance to interact with several of the traditional mediums; charcoal, pastels, oil, acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media. The mouse was strictly off limits until the traditional foundations were in place, a strong place.
Alistar’s approach is to allow the process to evolve from a place, a place self-described as ‘there’. The idea is to be open to all concepts, then distill until a final outcome is felt. The distillation usually results in a pure minimal finish.
