I wonder if the pilot is eating a bomb pop as he drops them from his plane?
[Reply]
of course he is. i really like this.
[Reply]
i really like bomb pops
[Reply]

Love the art and the artist! Thanks Andy!
[Reply]
Sorry guys… I feel this is too close to Suburban Blitzkrieg.
[Reply]
I’ve never seen that until now. It’s very cool. I think the RV twist is pretty unique….. bomb pops are bombs…don’t know what else to tell yah. There are prolly some more out there as well. :)

A cool shirt that will be a ” Blast ” to wear
[Reply]
Andy, you made some classic layering mistakes, it seems. the ends of the popsicle sticks are poking through into the blue of the popsicles.
[Reply]
No, not classic layering mistakes…. the image wasn’t set right in the mock that is shown. The illustrator version sent has guns on the front, no popsicle sticks poking through, artwork on the tail of the plane and the nose glass ring in the front. I sent a msg to ask about it….
[Reply]
Jaden, you made a classic internet mistake, it seems.
You have become a Troll.
[Reply]
@Andy – I see. I’m used to seeing the mock up just copied from the artwork file as it was presented to them.
@EricL – you’re a card. specifically the joker.
[Reply]
Andy, do you give any credit for this idea to TGentry, who did the Suburban Blitzkrieg?
[Reply]
yeah, I wore my Suburban Blitzkrieg yesterday.
It be da same, only not as good.
[Reply]
I love the tee but I’m not gonne be able to buy one. I really like the way the Bomb Pops are designed, don’t know how to better word it. Anyway, this tee is cuckoo bananas.

Pimp pops. I will wear it proudly!
[Reply]
I woke up at 6 am to check what was new and was “blown away” by all of these responses. Sorry had to toss a terrible joke into the mix.
[Reply]
Did you ever think that the Suburban Blitzkrieg shirt was a total joke, and that Andy’s play on this was more political? It is a “Bomb” pop. God forbid it should be played on a couple of times.
[Reply]
I don’t think you could seriously make an argument that this shirt has a political agenda if you read the artists own statement. Don’t take everything too seriously, it takes the fun out.
[Reply]
I was really just making fun of the people who were bagging.
Love the shirt, makes me want to go buy a push-up.
[Reply]
It’s cool, but just not my thing. As for the relation to the other shirt, I don’t know, sometimes similar ideas arise in people.
[Reply]
This is awesome, and even humorous. I see a few interpretations here, and I like them all.
[Reply]
It goes back to the argument that previous designs were “copies.” All these shirts are original ideas to best of everyone’s knowledge. Seeing shirts that share some aspects of a particular design can be beneficial to everyone. The shirts are very different in execution, color, composition, and over all concept. However, they both play off the same “gag”, which is where the strongest similarities arise.
I am very happy to call Bombs Away RIPT’s 50th tee!!!
[Reply]
Paul: The shirts are very different in execution, color, composition, and over all concept.
====
What does the color that have to do with it? Each features a one-color “plane” dropping the same red-white-and-blue bombs.
Execution/composition, because he used one dropper instead of three?
.. and you can’t seriously believe yourself that these shirts are “very different” in overall concept.
You’re just trying hard to convince yourself that they’re “so” different when they’re actually very similar.
[Reply]
Egos Unite! People come up with independent similar ideas all the time. Relax.
I think it’s cool both ways, but I prefer the bomber to the ice cream trucks.
[Reply]
Personally…i say,
“Doesnt matter who did it first, its who did it better…”
other than the teentsy bit of stick poking through to the pop(which doesnt even SHOW on the actual shirt..only on the website advertisement and is SOOOOO small that it wasnt even worth bringing up…), its flawless
i clicked the link to the other shirt, and id have to say (no offense) i wouldnt be caught dead in it. lol.
[Reply]
Similarities or not, I wish this many people felt the need to comment on this site when there’s nice things to say about a design every other day of the week.
[Reply]
@ JadenKale…
no offense, but….i just visited your site.
people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.
all im sayin.
[Reply]
Well ultimately any running commentary on a design is a good thing. If it sparks enough interest to create a debate for whatever reason, it is at least very interesting for me to read.
That is just the nature of the beast, and ultimately what keeps things moving forward.
[Reply]
Also, can you remove the initials on the final print version? That really takes away from the design, in my opinion.
[Reply]
I think the main similarity here is that two people realized the “bomb pop” pun. It’s always a possibility when you make a pun design that someone’s beaten you to the punch. Not a rip in my opinion, just two dudes inspired by the same thing.
This is a nice piece and kudos to Andy on a job well-done!
[Reply]
love this shirt. good color, beautiful design. nice lines. will definitely get this one.

@Spastastic Nomadic – We encourage our artists to sign their work. We will not be removing initials any time soon ;-)
