Hey I’m Ashley and I’m from New York City. I don’t know what exactly inspired me to become an artist, but I’ve been one my whole life so I guess I was just born as one.
My favorite artists… there’s too many to list! I really enjoy work by Hazel Dooney, James Jean, Yuko Shimuzu, Mathiole, Lucien Freud, Mike Giant, Frank Miller, Justin Maller, Cristiano Siqueira, Si Scott, Franz Kline, Warhol, Caravaggio, Vermeer…
I can go on, but I’ll stop at that :)
About this design – I really really love to draw animals, I find them quite fascinating and expressive in ways humans cannot be. A lot of my work has an animal focus to it because of this. Lately I have been working on mixing loose linework (such as the fur) with tight linework (such as the mouth area) as well as texture (the halftones). I think the contrast in linework and texture makes the design stronger than if I just drew it in one particular way.

Here we go again. Another wolf howling at the moon shirt? Sure do hope its the last. I must say, though, that it’s the best wolf howling at the moon shirt I’ve seen. It’d probably look really cool on velvet.

@jeffery/roger – I drew this design before I ever saw that Three Wolf Moon shirt / satire that was popular on “that other tshirt site”. In fact, I quite hate that shirt and the satire shirt that came after it and cannot understand for the life of me why it’s so popular or funny.
