The Iconography of Zelda

    redeye

OK. So I don’t know who Zelda is. Seriously, Riptsters. I’m guessing someone to do with a computer game or a movie? So I cannot appreciate your design, Cory. No offense intended. Is there anyone who cares to help me understand this design? From the lack of other comments, just maybe I’m not the only one who needs help? Or, probably, I’m just way out of touch with Pop Culture.

Link is a character from Legend of Zelda. A Nintendo franchise. These are a bunch of items/weapons/stuffs that Link uses in his MANY games.

@redeye – Extremely Popular Nintendo Game Series.

    Some random guy

Dude, its a classic video game. I remember I borrowed it from a friend. The character is an elf or something, in a mystical land. You have to solve puzzles and kill things to get to the end. You ride horses, you shoot arrows, you grow from a little boy into a man. Yep.

    Sam Fisher

I can’t believe there’s someone out there who doesn’t know who Zelda is o_o Anyway. I have to get this shirt. It might be my favorite so far.

Zelda is classical pop culture for the x-y-z generations. I played it a bit as a kid on my super nintendo and I am not that into games and such. It is just one of those things.

    Sam Fisher

Okay. I get everything except the mushroom. Where does that fit in? My mind’s running a blank on that one.

    Makocalamity

@Sam Fisher Majora’s Mask found in Mystical woods used for potion.

    Your Friendly Neighborhood Ninja

Hey guys. I’m new to this site but love most of the shirts I’ve seen in the graveyard. I know that the shirts are only available for 24 hours, but if I find a shirt in the graveyard how would I go about buying it?

    Your Friendly Neighborhood Ninja

Hey guys! I’ new to this site [I just found it today] and I like almost all the shirts in the graveyard. I know that the shirts are only available for 24 hours, but how would I go about buying a shirt from the past?

This shirt is awesome! Just to let you know, teefury made a Zelda shirt a couple of days ago and this one beats it by a land slide! I bought one for myself and my little brother. :)

    ARV

    Sweet, simple design!
These are all items from Link’s adventures… rupees, hearts, keys, bombs and even a fishing pole, to name a few! =) Love how the Triforce is just chilling in the middle of it all.

Also, is there anyway to get shirts from the graveyard?

    Juna D

I saw this one on the newsletter. Makes me want to play Zelda and save the princess again. Great job.

    Crypto

Wow, redeye, I appreciate your courage in asking a question like that but …damn, really?? If you are that out of touch with pop culture, what are you doing on a site like this? wow, anyway awesome shirt design, and to echo what was said up above nice simple design, and great execution! I like it! ;)

    Tommy

@Sam Fisher: The mushroom is from Link’s Awakening. You give it to the witch so she can make magic powder.

    CorvosKK

@Sam Fisher The mushrooms used in a lot of games. Like Makocalamity said it’s from Majora’s Mask, but also from Link’s Awakening and a few others.

Awesome execution on the design. As soon as I head about it I knew I had to pick it up!

    Girodu

A great T-shirt, but it doesn’t add the shipping fees, when i use Paypal to check out.

    I need this shirt. :(

    Dude

The mushroom was used first in A Link to the Past

    redeye

Thanks for all the help with the Zelda explanations. Looks like I got Crypto a little agitated… “If you are that out of touch with pop culture, what are you doing on a site like this?”. I didn’t think I needed to pass a pop culture test in order to frequent this or any other website. I have purchased quite a few tees from this and other t-shirt websites. I am 56 years old, so there are indeed other p.c. facts that I am unfamiliar with that the younger x,y,z and whatever generations hold so dear. And you’re right, Integral, those other names are completely unfamiliar to me. I hope I’m still allowed on the playground. Thanks again to those who helped.

    bob

It’s a cool design and all but it’s far too cluttered.
Much prefer the one teefury had the other daty

    Integral

Sadly I’m one of the only people in yr7 at my school who’s heard of zelda. It’s soo sad how unpopular it is with yr 7′s in Australia it’s depressing and also practically NO girls have heard of it or like it. I feel so alone :(. I think it’s the best game in the wooooooorrrrllllllddddddd!

    Samara

    Awesome.
