Artist Bio

Please tell us about your art.
I like to experiment with a lot of different mediums. Painting, sculpture, silk screen, pretty much anything. My apparel and illustration designs are mainly done using a tablet, then mixed with painted and scanned textures.

Before starting a new design, what’s the most important thing for an artist to consider?
If they’re getting paid for it, it should be “When is my deadline?” If it’s just for fun, I usually think “What haven’t I tried yet?”

How do you know when a design is finished?
It can be tough sometimes, especially nowadays with computers. When you can just add a new layer or save a new version it’s tempting to keep tweaking something. If I get stuck, it’s nice take a step back and maybe get some feedback from another artist I trust.

What are some subjects you revisit frequently in your art?
Music plays a large part in my art, directly or indirectly.

Where do you go for inspiration?
I have a pretty large collection of art books and a billion comics and graphic novels to flip through. And of course the internet is overflowing with talented artists. One of the first places I visit every morning is omgposters.com, just tons of amazing work on there.

Vincent Van Gogh, Ralph Steadman, Yoshitaka Amano, Heinrich Kley, Ashley Wood, Geoff Darrow, James Jean, Jason Munn……many, many more.
