I’m currently living in Minneapolis MN. The cold weather drives me to keep making work. I think if I lived somewhere warm, I’d spend all my time on the beach, rather than creating art.
I’ve been an artist my whole life. There’s barely been a time I can remember that I haven’t had a sketchbook in my hand, or ideas being scribbled on notepads. Creating and making ideas is my outlet in life.
My favorite artist, from the past, would have to be Picasso. He’s motivated me to never be content with a style, and to challenge myself to keep re-inventing the way I create art.
This shirt is a very subtle play on the word Phoenix. Morphing the mythical creature into the shape of the state of Arizona. Very simple, elegant design, with hint of textures to give it a retro feel. Enjoy!
