My name is Zack, better known as mrdavenport. I’m 20 years old and am majoring in graphic design over at NCSU College of Design.
At the beginning of 2009, I decided to set a New Years resolution of getting five shirts printed during the year. To my surprise I was able to triple this resolution and was lucky to get printed at some great sites like Design By Humans, Shirt Fight, and of course, RIPT! Hopefully for 2010 you’ll be seeing a lot more of me.
I am always available for freelance, so if you want, shoot me an email @ zack.davenport@gmail.com or check out my portfolio
Thanks guys!

Lookin’ good on Navy

Blue jay is an unusual choice for the colors and concept… wish the firebird had similar stylistic treatment.
Grats on the print

The Jay usually symbolizes the worker. it’s seen as counterpoint to the sparrow. Most usually ‘the worker’ is defined as one productively laboring yet not owning his tools of production. This Jay appears to be barfing up a fiery phoenix, it’s body expelling a symbol of the soul’s rebirth and it flies off to the west. Perhaps zach, from the heartland himself, is suggesting that the soul and productivity of American workers has been ‘barfed’ up and sent to china (west)? Or an edification on the soul stealing nature of Chinese goods in general?

Well, Ripts shirts are made overseas. If Danny is right the shirt is more ironic than insightful. Like the graphic.

Absolutely love the idea behind this one!
